Its a concert hall, but better known as the "Pop Orck Art Stage" where private artists can perfrom at given tiems. At this time there was no body performing but if you see the colorful ball to my left, touching it will give one options on how to dance during the live concert. Another great place to meet people and you can join a mailing group that informs memebers when concerts are available. The little jazz cat to my left is accepting tips but im broke, sorry kitty!

Well in Second Life, as the pictures details, you can choose from a choice of an assortment of beverages and snacks Thats with the payment of linden dollars of coarse! Nothings free in the virtual world either!

Group Hendrix Q & A

1. In World vs. Real World: How is the virtual society different than our real world society?

Virtual society is different because there is no face to face interaction, so basically no consequences or emotions can really be observed. If someone is shy or quiet in real life, it doesn't necessarily come across that way in Second Life unless the user wants it that way. Way more inhibitions can be acted out in Second Life.

2. How was your group meeting in world different, better or worse than the meeting in Blackboard Vista's chat groups that your instructors set up for this course?

Blackboard Vista was easier to communicate with each other for sure. Second Life has so many more visual things going on and our group members weren't as used to dealing with what it had to offer. We've all used regular chat rooms online so we knew how to use them properly to communicate in Vista.

3. How can virtual worlds like Second Life enhance the teaching and learning experiences for students?

You can reach many more students online in these worlds than in a classroom. The only difficulty would be users getting used to so many options and sequences to understand. Second Life type technology will definitely impact the way people learn in the future.

4. What are the implications for the arts and society?

Arts and Society are going to be influenced down the road by Second Life because the creation of a reliable, working virtual world can increase the viewership and communication between people so much easier and faster than in any other way. Arts through computer design and graphics are getting better every day and considered a very viable medium in art expression. Second Life allows society to view these graphic artists' work and experience something the real world has never seen before, Virtual life.
